Alongside my research, I maintain an active interest in enhancing teaching and learning. I have been recognized as a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in June 2021, hold a PGCert in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education from Oxford University (with distinction, 2020), and am accredited at Descriptor 2 of the UK Professional Standards Framework for Teaching in Higher Education.
At the graduate level, I have experience in teaching:
- Introduction to Quantitative and Qualitative Research Methods
- Advanced Qualitative Methods
- Comparative Research Designs
- Comparative Government
At the undergraduate level, I have taught:
- Parliamentary Studies
- Parliamentary Studies Project
- Researching Politics: Political parties in European democracies
- Politics in Europe
- Comparative Government
- Political Sociology
- Introduction to the Practice of Politics.
- Comparative Political Economy
My teaching has received excellent evaluations, and Oxford University’s Student Union shortlisted me for their 2018 ‘Outstanding Tutor Award’.
I have also supervised graduate and undergraduate students researching European politics, the origins and development of political institutions, and party politics and the radical right. I would be very happy to hear from prospective students who are interested in my fields of research.
