Thank you for visiting my website! I am an Assistant Professor in Political Science and Qualitative Methods at Trinity College Dublin.
My research is on comparative and European politics. My work focuses on the emergence, development, and resilience of democracies, with a special interest in political parties, the far right, and German politics.
I am the author of Parties under Pressure, published by the University of Chicago Press and winner of the 2025 Brian Farrell Book Prize of the Political Studies Association of Ireland. My other sole- and co-authored work has been published in the British Journal of Political Science, Political Research Quarterly, Political Studies Review, Social Science History, German Politics and Society, the Journal of Political Science Education, and edited volumes on party politics.

Before joining Trinity, I worked at Oxford University and Swansea University. I also was a visiting researcher at Yale University and the University of Vienna. I completed my PhD (DPhil) at Oxford University (Nuffield College).
